Shrimp: 1 pack (frozen)

Biryani spices: 1 tablespoon

Basmati rice: 2 cups (soaked)

Corn oil: 3 tablespoons

Onion: 1 (chopped)

Garlic: 4 cloves (crushed)

Ginger: 1 teaspoon (crushed)

Hot pepper: 1 pod (sliced)

Green coriander: 3/4 cup (chopped)

Tomatoes: 1 (chopped)

Turmeric: 1/4 teaspoon

Chili pepper: 1/4 teaspoon

Salt: 1.5 teaspoons

Black pepper: 1/4 teaspoon

Water: 3 cups

Details

Step 1

Wash the shrimp in water to thaw them slightly, then sprinkle half the amount of biryani spices over them and set aside for a few minutes.

Step 2

Heat the oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat, then add the onions, garlic, ginger, and peppers and stir.

Step 3

Add the shrimp and stir-fry for about 4 minutes.

Step 4

Add the coriander, tomatoes, remaining biryani spices, turmeric, chili powder, salt, and black pepper, and stir-fry for 1 minute.

Step 5

Add the rice and stir-fry gently for 2 minutes.

Step 6

Pour water and bring the mixture to a boil until the water reduces. Cover the pot tightly and cook for about 25 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked.

Step 7

Pour the biryani into a serving dish and serve hot.
